Color Wheel Wednesday

10/10/2013 by Jennifer 1 Comment

With the turn of the season, my favorite colors change drastically. Literally, the day before fall began I was embracing bright colors and florals. Now I’m attracted to warm typical colors of autumn, like burnt orange and forest green. I think red is going to be one of my favorite colors during fall and winter. I love how bold it is. Wearing a red dress, red lipstick, or red anything is a statement. But it’s not crazy, you know? Red is classic.

one, two, three, four, five, six

I have #1 and oh man. It’s the best. I think it is what got me started on this newfound love of red.

Do you ever feel like there are not enough hours in the day? Probably everyone feels that way. Most of my blogging and crafty stuff is done on the train to and from work and the time goes by too quickly! When I get home, I just have to pass out (like right now, haha). If blogging and crafting could be my full-time job, well, that would be a dream. Someday, someday…

Anyway! Tell me how you feel about red. Do you wear it a lot this time of year?

Window Shopping | Cozy Fall Sweaters

10/09/2013 by Jennifer 2 Comments

I guess aside from the natural beauty of autumn, my favorite part of the season would have to be sweaters. Not wearing sweaters during the warmer months is really hard. My wardrobe is pretty boring in the summer. I usually wear shorts and a t-shirt or workout clothes (which doesn’t mean I’m working out…). But when it gets chilly, I can throw on a sweater and a scarf and a trillion layers.

Unfortunately for me, the sun is just hangin’ out around here taking its time. This “in-between” weather is perfect for light sweaters and cardigans, but right now I just want to talk about big cozy sweaters.

1. Embroidered Ranunculus Tunic – Anthropologie $178.00
2. Swan of a Kind Sweater – ModCloth $72.99
3. Confetti Striped Pullover – Anthropologie $138
4. Megan Polkadot Sweater – Ruche $44.99
5. Red Animals Flowers Polkadot Print Cotton Sweater – CiChic $33.72

My favorite is #3. I actually tried it on in Anthropologie earlier today and I’m in looovveee! It’s the softest sweater in the world, and it looks so good with those burnt orange pants, huh? I might have to steal this outfit.

Which is your favorite? Is your town giving you sweater weather yet?

window shopping | boots & booties for fall

09/30/2013 by Jennifer 5 Comments

Nothing makes me want to shop more than fall and winter weather. I get warm fuzzies just thinking about shopping in the city on a cold day with all of the Christmas lights everywhere and people playing music outside. I have to remind myself that we’ve barely scratched the surface of fall and that I need to save my money. :)

And so I window shop…

1. Rose Labyrinth Cutout Booties – Ruche $44.99
2. The Charley Boot – Madewell $198.00
3. Kimchi Blue Tall Leather Boot – Urban Outfitters $99.00
4. City-Chic Wedge Boots – Forever 21 $32.80
5. Petty Suede Boot – Need Supply Co. $130.00
6. Zanita Booties – Anthropologie $198.00
7. Grandma Debutante Boot – Swedish Hasbeens $295.00

Yesterday my co-worker was wearing #4 and I went out and got them. I love having a pair of good staple boots, especially when they’re cheap. My shoes always wear out super quickly.

I really love #4 the most. May they go on sale in the very near future… Which is your favorite from the list?

everlasting apparel feature

09/21/2013 by Jennifer 3 Comments

The other day, I was featured on Hanna’s Places to share my favorite “Everlasting Apparel” item! I truly love Hanna’s blog and the environmentally aware mindset behind it. Her posts encourage me to live more simply – I’m working on it. :)

You can read the whole post here! And I encourage you to check out the rest of Hanna’s blog. It’s one of my new favorites.

ps. I may have blogged this same exact outfit before. Except for the shoes…I like to mix things up. :)

window shopping | bags for fall

08/15/2013 by Jennifer 1 Comment

I have never been unhealthily obsessed with accessories like bags or shoes… Most days I carry around a $1 cross-body garage sale find (someone spilled red wine all over it at Outside Lands though, so it might be retiring soon). But! The other day at work, I saw a purse that took my breath away. I feel really, really dramatic talking about it. I literally held it and stared at it for what seemed like minutes…while I was working. Oops. But oh man! That bag. Unfortunately, I can’t find it anywhere on the internet. If and when it makes an appearance, it will get a blog post to itself (no shame). For now, I want to share some of my favorite totes and crossbody bags for the upcoming season!

window shopping | native prints

07/30/2013 by Jennifer 5 Comments

I started this “window shopping” series a while ago, but it was an every-now-and-then thing that fizzled into nothing. Today, it is beginning again and it will be a weekly post. :)

Native prints are always a go-to for me. I love ’em. Especially when they include bright colors or contrast.

1. Ecote Maya Babydoll Dress – Urban Outfitters – $59.00
2. Stitch a Ride Flat in Red – ModCloth – $32.99
3. Palace Crossbody – Free People – $88.00
4. La Mer Collections Guatemala Wrap Watch – Shopbop – $110.00
5. Tzigane Geo Corset Belt – Anthropologie – $88.00
6. Feather Dream Catcher Necklace – Free People – $29.05
7. I’ll Be Quirky Flat – ModCloth – $69.99

That watch is a dream…I have been looking for the perfect watch and I’m almost there. Might have to splurge.

Do you have any favorites from the list?
