Everyone’s talking about Kate Spade Saturday lately, and I can definitely see why. It’s the amazing new addition to Kate Spade, and it is full of bright clothing, accessories, shoes…everything. I spent a good thirty minutes just browsing the shop and picking out my favorites.

dress, skirt, mug, watch, shorts, scarf

Do you have any favorites from the shop??

dress up | off to work

07/18/2013 by Jennifer 6 Comments

Can I just say that I really, really love my job? I love it a lot. Some days are really stressful…I make mistakes. There are all these time crunches. But the other day was just such a good day. I love meeting customers (and their dogs!) and learning about all of the beautiful crafty products. I especially love when someone returns a dress that is not in our store (in my exact size). That happened last week. This Sikuli Diamond Dress caught my eye as soon as we got it in the store, but it was just too long! Also, we only had it in green. Then one day, someone returned a black petite dress in my size, and I snagged it. So YAY! That’s my story. :)

Vest & Dress: Anthropologie / Bracelets: Borrowed / Necklace: Forever 21
Also, the lipstick I’m wearing is Vesuvius by NARS and it’s my new favorite ever! I love it.

’20s style wedding – dresses for the lady guests

05/30/2013 by Jennifer 7 Comments

On Monday, my friend Kat got married to her true love, Cameron. It was nothing short of magical. I didn’t get many pictures but just imagine with me – trees, bridges, creeks, a large barn decked with white christmas lights, pink tablecloths, jars covered in gold glitter filled with white flowers. Breathe in, breathe out. I couldn’t take it. It was the best.

In addition to all of these pretty decorations, it was twenties themed!!! I found out at the last minute because I guess I don’t pay attention to wedding invitations very well. I searched for a flapper/art deco/shift style dress and it seemed like all of the ones I really liked were a million dollars or sold out. Here are some dresses that I loved:

one, two, three, four

I’m all about the scallops. That last scalloped sequin dress is my absolute favorite. Someday I’ll find it and wear it to every fancy event I attend. I ended up going for this lacy dress from Modcloth and some Anthro earrings that I love. Also, brown flats and a black cardigan. It was chilly!

I was worried the dress would be too fancy for a wedding, but lots of people were a little fancy too. I love this dress, but I found out that the slip underneath is super annoying. You win some, you lose some I guess…

Here are some iPhone pictures of the wedding. I stole a few my roomie Sara’s phone. It was a beautiful night, full of dancing and…lots of dancing. I liked it. :)

Dress Up | Modern Composition

04/30/2013 by Jennifer 9 Comments

I’m so in love with my Modern Composition dress from Anthropologie! It wasn’t being sold in the store I work at, but then someone returned a dress in my size! So I grabbed it. I love the stripes and bold brushstroke colors. It’s perfect for this new warm weather and I love how it can be dressed up or worn as a casual day dress.

The necklace I’m wearing was five dollars from the new Goodwill! It is almost scary how well it matches my dress. I’m not one to be super matchy, but I was pretty dang pleased. :)

Have you found any good thrifty items lately?

Dress Up | Going to Work

04/16/2013 by Jennifer 14 Comments

My new job has been keeping me on my toes when it comes to creating outfits. Right now, I am mainly challenging myself in the jewelry department. Putting on earrings isn’t natural for me (also they hurt my ears!). And I never think of buying bracelets. On this particular day, I wore earrings and a bracelet! Crazy!

I absolutely love working at Anthro again. It can be challenging and it isn’t an easy breezy job by any means, but I’ll just say that occasionally I get to pet dogs and smell candles. That always makes my day. :)

There is only one more day to enter The Zale in Vail giveaway! It’s a great way to get your name out there in the blogging/crafting community. Details can be found here.

Dress Up | Bees & Antiques

04/04/2013 by Jennifer 3 Comments

…and thrifting and mojitos and frieenndship. That is how I describe most days spent with Lauren. Last week, we finally visited Sacramento Beekeeping Supplies! I always tend to stop by when they’re closed. It is an amazing building, inside and out (as you can see!), full of honey, beekeeping supplies, and everything bee-related that you could imagine. I’m sure it will become a place that I frequent.

Speaking of bees, I finally took an introductory beekeeping class! But that needs a whole separate post, I think. :)

Have a wonderful day! Don’t forget to enter this giveaway to win ad space and a guest post on The Zale in Vail! It’s a great opportunity.
