Window Shopping | Woodland Inspired

11/12/2013 by Jennifer 4 Comments

Woodland creatures are everywhere and I have never loved them more. I have to keep telling myself “you only need one hedgehog sweater.” It’s rough.

Here are some of my favorite woodland-inspired items:

1. Curious Hedgehog Ornament – LEIF $12.00
2. Hand-Embroidered Wall Art – Anthropologie $98.00
3. Tiny Leaf Pine Cone Earrings – SilentRoses on Etsy $22.00
4. Plum & Bow Reindeer Ring Holder – Urban Outfitters $6.00
5. Wise Investment Bank – ModCloth $24.99
6. Patchwork Forest Creature Pillow – Anthropologie $198.00
7. Twig Bracelet – LEIF $168.00

Let’s talk about that tiny six-dollar reindeer? SO cute!

Yesterday I had the day off and after sleeping in for an embarrassingly long time (no really though, it was bad), I got to work on photographing a bunch of items to review! Good things are coming… This is the last week before my posts are 100% holiday related. :)

PS. I’m rearranging my whole blog today so it will definitely look crazy all day. CSS and I are frenemies for life.

Window Shopping | Botanical Prints

11/04/2013 by Jennifer 5 Comments

I love a good botanical print, especially if it is on a really dark surface like some of these are. It makes the flowers and plants all the more vibrant, and it proves that floral patterns definitely have a place in colder seasons.

1. Vase Time Dress – ModCloth $137.99
2. Botanical Print (in green) – Anthropologie $58.00
3. Jardin Weekly Desk Pad – Rifle Paper Co. $12.00
4. Golden Bouquet Black iPhone Case – Rifle Paper Co. $34.00
5. Art of Instruction Botanical Journals – Paper Source $12.95
6. Nightbloom Tights – Anthropologie $22.00
7. Botanical Book Club Cardigan – ModCloth $57.99
8. Indigofera Scarf – Anthropologie $68.00

Which is your favorite? I can’t seem to decide. :)

Window Shopping | Cozy Fall Sweaters

10/09/2013 by Jennifer 2 Comments

I guess aside from the natural beauty of autumn, my favorite part of the season would have to be sweaters. Not wearing sweaters during the warmer months is really hard. My wardrobe is pretty boring in the summer. I usually wear shorts and a t-shirt or workout clothes (which doesn’t mean I’m working out…). But when it gets chilly, I can throw on a sweater and a scarf and a trillion layers.

Unfortunately for me, the sun is just hangin’ out around here taking its time. This “in-between” weather is perfect for light sweaters and cardigans, but right now I just want to talk about big cozy sweaters.

1. Embroidered Ranunculus Tunic – Anthropologie $178.00
2. Swan of a Kind Sweater – ModCloth $72.99
3. Confetti Striped Pullover – Anthropologie $138
4. Megan Polkadot Sweater – Ruche $44.99
5. Red Animals Flowers Polkadot Print Cotton Sweater – CiChic $33.72

My favorite is #3. I actually tried it on in Anthropologie earlier today and I’m in looovveee! It’s the softest sweater in the world, and it looks so good with those burnt orange pants, huh? I might have to steal this outfit.

Which is your favorite? Is your town giving you sweater weather yet?

window shopping | boots & booties for fall

09/30/2013 by Jennifer 5 Comments

Nothing makes me want to shop more than fall and winter weather. I get warm fuzzies just thinking about shopping in the city on a cold day with all of the Christmas lights everywhere and people playing music outside. I have to remind myself that we’ve barely scratched the surface of fall and that I need to save my money. :)

And so I window shop…

1. Rose Labyrinth Cutout Booties – Ruche $44.99
2. The Charley Boot – Madewell $198.00
3. Kimchi Blue Tall Leather Boot – Urban Outfitters $99.00
4. City-Chic Wedge Boots – Forever 21 $32.80
5. Petty Suede Boot – Need Supply Co. $130.00
6. Zanita Booties – Anthropologie $198.00
7. Grandma Debutante Boot – Swedish Hasbeens $295.00

Yesterday my co-worker was wearing #4 and I went out and got them. I love having a pair of good staple boots, especially when they’re cheap. My shoes always wear out super quickly.

I really love #4 the most. May they go on sale in the very near future… Which is your favorite from the list?

window shopping | mushrooms

09/15/2013 by Jennifer 2 Comments

Let’s talk about mushrooms patterns. They are cute and very representative of autumn. And they’re everywhere!! When I begin to really like something, I get obsessive. So lately, I have been snagging (or wish-listing) everything with a mushroom pattern. In a weird way, they are getting me into the fall spirit. Not pumpkins…not cloudy weather. But like I said, it is not fall yet. There are six days left of summer, peeps.

1. Mushroom Measuring Spoons – Anthropologie $20.00
2. Vintage Mushroom Containers – Modcloth – Sold out, but I have seen them at many antique malls and thrift stores lately.
3. Cushion Cover 50x50cm – skinnylaminx on Etsy $38.00 (also comes in a pretty cocoa color)
4. Nathalie Lete Dessert Plate – Anthropologie $14.00
5. Mushroom Garden Vintage Crewel – MaudesOdds on Etsy $18.00

Mushrooms are also filling the window display of the Anthropologie store I work at (and probably most other Anthro stores as well). I’ll have to take a picture one of these days. :)

new bedroom inspiration

08/29/2013 by Jennifer 6 Comments

Moving is stressful. In college, I moved between my mom’s house and my dorm like twenty times. Because you know, holidays and stuff. But that was a piece of cake compared to moving out of a house – especially a super old house that collects dust and dirt by the minute. We’ve been cleaning the heck out of that place. However, I honestly can’t wait to finish moving and I have so many hopes and dreams for my new place. This may be a stressful week, but the fact is, this weekend is going to arrive. And everything will be fine. :)

So about these hopes and dreams! Well, my new bedroom is huge. Definitely at least twice as big as the bedroom I have shared with Sara for the past year. We just wanted to live in that cute old house so badly…sacrifices! Anyway, my new room is a master bedroom and while most would say it is meant for a couple to share, I say it’s meant for a girl with too many craft supplies (me). There are two closets and a bathroom. Two closets!!!

Here is a little mood board with the look and feel I want to create in my bedroom:

one/two/three/four/five/six/seven/eight/nine

There is nothing I want quite more for my room than that duvet cover. I think Holli Zollinger is the best, but I can’t justify dropping $200 dollars on anything like that. So my search continues. Duvet covers are hard to find, man! I may be purchasing those hanging mirrors very soon though.

I want to try to keep most of the colors as simple as possible (ivory, black, neutrals) and then add pops of colors. My favorite group of colors has stayed the same for quite a while now and that makes me proud. I think it means I won’t be changing my mind anytime soon. I’m loving goldenrod (always my number one), mint, and pale pink/peach. A little chartreuse is going to be thrown in there too. I just don’t want to go overboard with colors because I mean, my yarn collection will add enough color by itself.

On another day, I’ll share my mood board for the bathroom.

Although moving is crazy, the chance to redecorate definitely makes it worth it. I have many Ikea trips planned in my near future… Have you redecorated any of your rooms recently??
