My roommate posted this quote on her tumblr a few months ago and when I saw it, I thought it was beautiful. But it didn’t resonate with me until now. Being alone has always been a nice and pleasant thing for me, but only for a brief period of time. Normally, I need a lot of interaction with people and I get cabin fever like you wouldn’t believe. Suddenly, things are different. I feel level. I feel content. I don’t want plans every night. I want my solitude.

weekly instagrams
1. Zooey Magazine featuring Elsie and Emma!
2. I met this pug the other day. Ohmygosh. So old and so cute.
3. Last week, I enjoyed these fancy foods with Sara and our friend Bryan. It was the best.
4. Rolled up all of my yarn! Or like, half of it. I have another box of yarn hidden under my bed and I’m super scared to go through all of it. It has probably tangled into what I call a “Yarn Monster”.
5. Just eatin’ pizza in bed.
6. Delicious tomatoes from my mother’s garden.
7. Some shoes. This selfie challenge is getting hard! Some days I just don’t want anyone to see my face, you know?
8. My name is Jennifer, and I’m addicted to animal-themed clothing. I can’t stop! This is my second bunny shirt.
9. And this, my friends, is Copper. The puppy!!! Can you believe it? He’s SO CUTE! We picked him up today and it was very exciting and precious. I can’t wait to share the whole story this week, but right now I am falling asleep.

thoughts on selfies
Everybody knows that selfies are awkward. At least, they start out that way. In middle school, trying to get that perfect selfie in the bathroom mirror..But then, ten years later, they can be kinda fun!
Elsie and Emma of A Beautiful Mess are doing a 30-day self-portrait challenge and I thought I’d join in. Not because I love selfies a ton, but because I really want to win an autographed copy of their photo idea book. :) I am getting used to these daily selfies. They have been challenging me to have fun and do more productive things (because who wants to see a picture of me sleeping all day? Only creeps…).
Even if posting pictures of your face might feel awkward or may seem conceited, the point is…IT’S YOUR FACE. And it is a big expression of who you are.
What are your thoughts on selfies? Are you joining in on the 30-day challenge?
ps. my instagram name is @jennyigloo if you’d like to following along. :)
state fair
Last week, my dad took our cousin, my sisters and me to the state fair. When he invited me, my first thought was, I’m gonna get the cutest pictures of my sisters. And their cuteness did not disappoint. I love those girls more than anything. :)
Portland & Mt Hood
My trip to Portland and Mt. Hood was a beautiful breath of fresh air. Oh, how I love Oregon. I feel a little ache each time I visit, as if something is telling me not to leave. Oregon, get your winter weather together and then I’ll move up there in a heartbeat. ;)
I can’t waaaiitt to go back. It will have to happen later this summer or fall. I haven’t gotten my fill.
Portland is kinda like my “soulmate city”. Do you have a place like that? Somewhere you’ve always wanted to live and someday (hopefully) will?
