solitude

08/04/2013 by Jennifer 4 Comments

My roommate posted this quote on her tumblr a few months ago and when I saw it, I thought it was beautiful. But it didn’t resonate with me until now. Being alone has always been a nice and pleasant thing for me, but only for a brief period of time. Normally, I need a lot of interaction with people and I get cabin fever like you wouldn’t believe. Suddenly, things are different. I feel level. I feel content. I don’t want plans every night. I want my solitude.

It feels really, really wonderful. :)

what a beautiful quote! I love Warsan Shire. Have you listened to this? http://vimeo.com/38766162 Another beautiful poem by her!

I’ve just texted this quote to my friend because it made me think instantly of her! She’s a very introverted person but I’m the total opposite – like you, i love to be around people! I guess there’s nothing better than a little alone time.

I love spending time with family and friends but after a while I start to unravel if I haven’t had any time to just be on my own and breath. Time for Solitude (for me) is essential. Great quote!

Lovely quote. I quite like my alone time, but my husband is always (usually?) sweeter than my solitude. Lucky me :)
