Color Wheel Wednesday | Rust & Mint

10/11/2012 by Jennifer 5 Comments

Last fall, I tried unsuccessfully to turn mint into one of my “autumn colors”. It was too summery and bright though and I think I only wore it once. But this time, my love for mint will stand still. I plan to pair it with a deep, autumny rust :) I’m so in love with this color combination.

(clockwise) one, two, three, four

By “mint”, I mean anything in the light blue/green arena, and by “rust”, I mean reddish, orangeish, brownish wonderfulness. There is a fuzzy line with those colors.

What do you like pairing mint and/or rust with?

Color Wheel Wednesday | Lemongrass and Pink

09/12/2012 by Jennifer 3 Comments

I’ve never ever put green and pink together. Maybe when I was ten. I’m usually not into pink at all. Except for lately, I am all about pink. (in tiny quantities.) It is the weirdest thing! This post is inspired by my ikea items (photo #2) and my new kitchen. I love how the lemongrass green and pale pink just go together. Throw some greys in there and you’ve got a cozy, happy color combination.

one, two, three, four

Today, I am working on color combinations for new Etsy items. Normally I just make whatever I want and throw it in the shop, but I’ve decided to focus more on “collections.” Sounds so fancy!

How do you feel about green and pink together? Be honest…

Color Wheel Wednesday | Peach & Navy

08/29/2012 by Jennifer 9 Comments

Today’s post is inspired by my best friend Sara who came over the other day wearing a navy blue dress and peach eyeshadow. Immediately, a lightbulb went on over my head and I realized that peach and navy is my new favorite color combination! It’s like summer and winter got together and said, “Here ya go, have the best of both worlds!” I’m so going to take this into the fall season. Peach and navy, dude. Forever.

one, two, three, four, five

This season, I am going to start using my tablet more to show some of my real handwriting. It’s so fun! I don’t know why it has taken me this long to utilize it in a blog post.

What is your favorite color combination lately? :)

Today, I’m doing something a little different with Color Wheel Wednesday. Feast your eyes upon the beauty that is Rifle Paper Co:

Don’t they just have the best color schemes?! I want everything I own to be designed by this company. I love them so, so much. I hope you don’t mind if I blog about Rifle Paper every few days, because that might start happening.

Color Wheel Wednesday | Coral

06/28/2012 by Jennifer 2 Comments

Remember Color Wheel Wednesday?! It’s been a while…

Last weekend, I went shopping with Sara and we kept fawning over anything in the coral family. It is indeed a perfect summer color.

Now I’m off to get sushi with my old roommates! Miss them, always. It’ll be a good time.

Last night, my current and future roommates and I had the best Valentine’s Day get together. It was a blast. I will have to post the recipe of our grapefruit cocktails because they were fantastic! Hope everyone had fun celebrating (or not celebrating! whatevs).

PS. Still changing the blog layout around! Will I ever settle? I would love to hire someone to design my blog, who I can afford. Any ideas?
