Color Wheel Wednesday

With the turn of the season, my favorite colors change drastically. Literally, the day before fall began I was embracing bright colors and florals. Now I’m attracted to warm typical colors of autumn, like burnt orange and forest green. I think red is going to be one of my favorite colors during fall and winter. I love how bold it is. Wearing a red dress, red lipstick, or red anything is a statement. But it’s not crazy, you know? Red is classic.

I have #1 and oh man. It’s the best. I think it is what got me started on this newfound love of red.

Do you ever feel like there are not enough hours in the day? Probably everyone feels that way. Most of my blogging and crafty stuff is done on the train to and from work and the time goes by too quickly! When I get home, I just have to pass out (like right now, haha). If blogging and crafting could be my full-time job, well, that would be a dream. Someday, someday…

Anyway! Tell me how you feel about red. Do you wear it a lot this time of year?

Colorwheel Wednesday | White

I’m really into white right now! White shorts (just bought the ones pictured below), white nail polish, white walls…especially white walls. Once when I was thirteen and a little bit of an optimistic emo kid (those exist), I thought it would be cool to paint my room this bright shade of turquoise with black trim. My friend Lauren and I painted most of it. Oh, and we painted my closet magenta, because you know, it was cool. Over the years, I got overwhelmed by all the colors and realized that my thirteen year old self had made a terrible mistake. A couple of years ago after an inspiring visit to Greece, I painted my room peach to match a beautiful building I had seen. My mom told me it looked like an ice cream shop. Now, I’m all about white walls. Because I am indecisive when it comes to decorating, it makes sense for me to start with a blank canvas and then add temporary pops of color here and there. In about a week, I’m moving to a new place and I am so excited to decorate!!! I’ll blog about bedroom decor ideas sometime, but for now… white (and also a little ivory):

I also own the sunglasses and they are so cute! It is so neat how white, a “non-color”, can bring out so much beauty in other colors. Mmm contrast!

color wheel wednesday | orange

So I have that thing called synesthesia. I relate everything to colors in my mind. Words and numbers mostly, but I hear that some people can taste colors. Crazy! Anyway, the month of August is orange. I don’t think that it’s out of the ordinary since summer is orange-y already…my synesthesia only gets weird when I start talking about how Monday is green or twenty three is blue and orange.

These are all from Anthropologie. I just got fixated on all of their beautiful orange things. :)

Do you like orange? I think it is a really happy color, but I can only handle it in small doses. Pops of orange color here and there.

colorwheel wednesday | chartreuse

Chartreuse and I have come a very long way. I remember in high school my friend and I used to call this color “throw up green”. We hated it. Once another friend wanted to buy a car in this color, and I kind of told her that I didn’t like the color at all. I don’t know what to say except for that I am a changed woman. Chartreuse forever!

The record player is going to be something I gift to myself once I move into my new place. I can’t wait. :)

What are your thoughts on chartreuse? Is this even the color that you think of when you hear “chartreuse”? Some people like it more yellow or more green.

ps. Happy Birthday to Harry Potter and JK Rowling. If it were any other year I’d be throwing a little marathon party, but today I’m just chillin’. :)

Color Wheel Wednesday | Pink

A lot has changed since the last time I blogged about the color pink. I genuinely appreciate it. I have also developed a newfound love for P!nk these past few months, because she is brilliant.

Valentine’s Day is tomorrow, but I’m just looking forward to my Galentine’s Day party on Friday. Actually, today is the official Galentine’s Day holiday!

Color Wheel Wednesday | Persimmon

I love persimmon! It’s bright, it’s pretty, it reminds me of summer…I don’t know if I like the actual fruit. It isn’t my favorite. But anyway, the color:

I bought the planner (photo #1) in 2012 and loved it so much. I think that’s when I really fell for the color of persimmon.
