color wheel wednesday: chartreuse

11/30/2011 by Jennifer 2 Comments

I’m finally back for Color Wheel Wednesday. And today’s color is dedicated to one of my very, very best friends and roommates, Stephanie! She is crafty and awesome, so I should probably start a weekly Steph post.

Steph loves a lot of things. Kittens, babies, yarn, the earth, coffee, her friends, Jesus… she is very wonderful and I’m thankful that we have been friends for a whole three years (and many more to come).

One more important thing about Steph is that she loves green.
Chartreuse to be exact.

happy thanksgiving!

11/25/2011 by Jennifer 3 Comments

I hope everyone’s day was full of family and warmth and love. Mine was pretty great. I love time with family, although I was sleepy for most of the day… (didn’t even have any turkey either).

Last night I was busy crocheting these coasters for our meal today:
They were so fun to make, except weaving in the edges took me hours. I cheated and glued felt to the back. Pattern from Crochet Spot :)
Thanksgiving dinner was super delightful and healthy…
Fresh squeezed apple juice!

My aunt Deb made the pie on the left using pumpkins from her garden :)

I’m thankful for a lot. It makes thankful lists look silly.
Now I’m so, so full and I just want to sleep! Wish I knew if I was working tomorrow… Only time will tell.

birthday recap

11/22/2011 by Jennifer 1 Comment

I had an amazing time last week on my birthday and on the days that followed. Here’s a little instagram recap (ps. I’ll start using my real camera soon).
On Tuesday night, I had a little party at my grandma’s house with my parents, roommates, and sisters (woooohoo!). They are crazy and love posing oddly for the camera. See the huge bear that Danali is holding in the lower right picture? Yeah… that’s my bear now. He sits in my apartment and slightly frightens whoever walks in the room, until they realize how soft he is. My sister named him Bobo! I didn’t really have a choice.

Afterwards, my roommates took me out to Revolution Wines. Hello, new favorite place. We had macaroni and cheese with gouda, and bruschetta with brie and apples. The wine was amazing, too.

We also stopped by Tower Cafe! I’m so glad, because I have been wanting to go there for a while. It was a mix of eclectic, cultural, and charming :)

This past weekend, my mom and I spent our Saturday in Berkeley and I spent much of my birthday money there. Aaahhh, so much for not spending money this month. I finally took advantage of my Anthro and Urban discounts. Who knows how long those are gonna last, right?

These petals were seriously so purple

At one moment, we almost bought a kitten. But… not this time.

Mmmm!

Alright, I should begin listening to my professor. Finals are right around the corner…!
Can’t wait to post on what I have been crocheting lately. This week = yarn, fabric, felt, some papers, and possibly working at Anthro on Black Friday. Crazy times.

side note: my new Society6 case!

11/17/2011 by Jennifer Leave a Comment

A few weeks ago, I posted about my search for an iPhone case, preferably from the lovely Society6.

I rounded up my favorites and tried to decide which one to go with, but then (thank goodness), I found this giraffe:

society6.com

And he stole my heart :)

Unfortunately, this case doesn’t offer much protection to the phone, considering it cracked right down the middle the other day. I don’t even remember dropping it! Thankfully, the lady at the Apple store was very generous and gave me a new one.

It was a birthday present from my mom since No-Spend November is still going strong. Ah, kind of. Until Saturday, when I go birthday-money shopping. Maannn I love to shop…
Anyway, happy happy Thursday. Let the Thanksgiving countdown begin :)

year twenty one, day one (so far)

11/16/2011 by Jennifer 4 Comments

Today is my birthday! And what an amazing birthday it has been :)

Feist was breathtaking last night. My friend Sara and I had a wonderful time. We have waited five years to see Feist so it was a dream come true! As a part of the Encore, she sang Look At What the Light Did Now with Little Wings and I cried. Gosh. It was everything I had hoped for.

(just showing off my blue pants…)

This morning, I had an interview at reCREATE, which is an eco art center that provides classes and workshops for kids and families. And now I officially have a new internship! Yay! I will have to work to integrate the internship with my psych degree, but it will be great. It sounds like everything I want in an internship.

After my interview, I went out to Thai food with Sara and to Starbucks with my dear roomie Steph.

Also, somehow my phone ended up with a huge crack down the middle, so a trip to the Apple store was necessary as well.

Those are my facts of the day. Now I’m off to my grandma’s house and then it is time for Revolution Wines.

More pictures to come :)
