Best Father’s Day Cards of 2015

06/04/2015 by Jennifer 1 Comment

Months ago, I gathered up all of the cutest Mother’s Day cards I could find and kept them on my secret Pinterest board just waiting around for May to arrive. And then, like a fool, I forgot to share them! So lame.  I made sure not to make the same mistake this month for Father’s Day. I love finding new favorite letterpress companies, so I had a great time searching for different Father’s Day cards to share. Also, can we just talk about how shopping for father’s is so difficult?! Getting kind of nervous that Father’s Day is 2ish weeks away, but at least I’m good to go in the card area.

Father’s Day Gift Guide

06/13/2014 by Jennifer 1 Comment

Shopping for Father’s Day gifts can be rough. I don’t think of ties, golf, and fishing when I think of my dad. He likes techy things, is the life of the party, and often travels to far off lands. So, I decided to center this gift guide around my father. The techy, well-traveled, fun dad.

1. Classic Leather Travel Accessories – Neiman Marcus
2. Bodum Vacuum Thermal Travel Press – Crate & Barrel
3. Leather Travel Case – Red Envelope
4. Driftwood Dock for iPhone 5 – Dock Artisan
5. Canvas & Leather iPad Case – The Field
6. Father’s Day Suit Card – Rifle Paper Co.
7. 12x Telescope Lens for iPhone 4/4S with Telescopic Tripod – Sanoxy

I just found out my dad will be joining me in my drive up north next week (next week!!). We haven’t taken a road trip together since I was really little, so I’m excited. :)

Happy weekend! Enjoy it.

Mother’s Day Gift Guide

05/06/2014 by Jennifer 2 Comments

I was thinking the other day about how there are quite a few cliches attached to moms and dads around these appreciative holidays. They are good things I’d say, but not always applicable to everyone. Gifts for moms usually include flowers and kitchen-y things. Cards for fathers tend to be illustrated with ties, fishing gear, and baseball mitts. I don’t know about you guys, but my parents are pretty dang quirky! Even so, I ended up naturally creating a “flowery and kitchen-y” gift guide for mothers. In my defense, my mom does always ask for candles and flowers during holidays, quirky as she is. Father’s Day is going to be trickier, but let’s focus on one gift at a time. :)

1. Library of Flowers Arboretum Bubble Bath – Anthropologie $36.00
2. Heirloom Recipe Box – littlelow on Etsy $98.00
3. Farmer’s Market Pad – Rifle Paper Co. $9.50
4. World’s Greatest Mom Card – Rifle Paper Co. $4.50
5. The Forest Feast by Erin Gleeson – Anthropologie $35.00
6. Capri Blue Reed Diffuser in Volcano – Anthropologie $32.00
7. Ghana Woven Checker Basket – Moorea Seal $36.00
8. Pinched & Glazed Planter – LEIF $40.00

The Whole Earth Festival in Davis always lands on Mother’s Day weekend, so I will probably be going there with my mom and grandma. I love spending time with them. :)

Gift Guide | For the Crazy Cat Lady

04/22/2014 by Jennifer 3 Comments

Nowadays everyone and their mom is a “crazy cat lady”. My friend Devin is the person I measure every other cat lady up against. She is wholeheartedly the most intense cat lover I’ve ever met. The cool thing about everybody loving cats is that it makes people super easy to shop for! Go to any online shop and type in “cats” and you will likely get a whole bunch of options. I wish that were the case for crazy bee ladies like me but I guess we can’t have everything, can we?

1. Picasso Cats Tote Bag – Leah Reena Goren $22.00
2. Cat Print Wool-Silk Scarf – LEIF $112.50
3. Kitten Confidential Shaker Set – ModCloth $12.99
4. Overdyed Rope Collar – Free People $58.00
5. You’re the Cat’s Pajamas Card – Rifle Paper Co. $4.50
6. Spotty Foot Cat Tipi – Cat Tipi $54.00
7. Cat Ring – LEIF $65.00
8. Fond Friends Dress – ModCloth $74.99

Other great gift ideas are the ’90s classics, Dancing With Cats and Why Cats Paint. In fact, go buy these ones for yourself. They are too good to be true.

Do you consider yourself a cat person? I’d rather cuddle with a big fluffy dog like Copper every day, but some cats are alright I suppose. :)

Holiday Gift Guide | For the Kids

12/22/2013 by Jennifer 2 Comments

I think kids are the easiest kinds of people to shop for. I mean when I was little, I was happy with anything. Except for that year when I thought Santa didn’t like me because he didn’t bring me a Furby. That is so embarrassing. Oh my gosh. Furbies are so scary… Let’s change the subject.

Here are some sweet, non-creepy gift ideas for the little folks in your life:

1. Nature Calls Childrens Umbrella – Baby Vegas $14.95
2. The Very Hungry Caterpillar Personalized Lunch Box – Chronicle Books $29.99
3. Melting Snowman Putty – Paper Source $11.95 (So. Much. Fun.)
4. Woodland Babe Bunny – Paper Source $22.95 (Literally the softest stuffed animal ever)
5. Original Kids Hunter Boots – Hunter $75.00
6. Crochet Retro Phone – Tea Pea New Zealand $68.00
7. 142 Piece Wood Art Set – Target $28.99
8. Petite Creature Cubes – Anthropologie $24.00

Well, it’s been fun doing holiday gift guides this month! I think gift guides just might be my favorite kinds of posts to write, especially when I have certain people in mind. :)

Holiday Gift Guide | For the Christmas Lover

12/17/2013 by Jennifer 3 Comments

Sometimes Christmas-related gifts are the best gifts. I know that the day after Christmas, all the hype is over, but ornaments stay in families for so long. There is something really special about bringing out cheery holiday decorations even if it is just for one month out of the year. Traditions are exciting.

This gift guide is inspired by my best friend Sara. She loves Christmas so much! I bought her these antler drink markers (#5) as an early Christmas present. They are so cute!! I think a lot of these would be neat little stocking stuffers.

1. Pine Ornament Card – Rifle Paper Co. $4.50 each or $18 for boxed set of 6
2. Holiday Gift Card Earring Set – Urban Outfitters $8.00
3. Evergreen Tree Tops – Anthropologie $12.00
4. From Deer to Eternity Sweater – ModCloth $72.99
5. Antler Markers – Patina $5.95
6. Mulled Wine Pot With Heater – Houzz $44.00
7. Mercury Monogram Ornament – Anthropologie $6.00
8. Fraser Fir Seasonal Poured Candle – Casa.com $40.00
9. Instant Ugly Sweater Patch (Set of 6) – Urban Outfitters $14.00

Do you have any friends or family who are crazy about Christmas? I’m usually not that girl, but this year I am just embracing the holidays. I can’t resist sparkly things and cookies and all of the fun that comes along with Christmas. Also, I just can’t wait to be with my family in a cozy house surrounded by trees and…snow? That’s to be determined. Ahhh, I have warm fuzzies. :)
