We Love You, New York

01/06/2013 by Jennifer 10 Comments

New Years Eve in NYC was a blast! Here are some photos that Sara, Dawn, and I took in Central Park (which was gorgeous, snowy, and freezing).

The rest of the trip was full of shopping, seeing Chicago on Broadway, discovering tasty restaurants, and ringing in the new year in Times Square. Or ten blocks from it. Same difference, right? :)

As usual, most of our adventures were caught on instagram rather than my camera-camera.

This is definitely a trip I can see myself doing again (and again) for New Years or for any old day.

How did you celebrate the new year??

Christmas Eve

12/24/2012 by Jennifer 1 Comment

Merry Christmas Eve, everybody!

The other night, my roommate Sara and I threw a little get together with some friends. We put lights up around the house and created a festival atmosphere. The night was full of friends, games, food, and yummy drinks. I’m thankful that this little house has turned into a home for my roommates and myself. :)

I hope everybody is having a wonderful, happy holiday season. Stay safe on the rainy and/or snowy roads.

Blueberry Cup Pies

12/21/2012 by Jennifer 1 Comment

I have always, always, always wanted to bake cup pies. You know, like the pie maker from Pushing Daisies. I want to be a beekeeper as well, so maybe Pushing Daisies and I just have a special connection! My friend Lauren has been baking pies for, like, a billion years. I’ve never baked one before in my life. She came over the other day and we (she) made blueberry cup pies without even using a recipe. And they were so, so good. The next day, I made more pie crust and used the rest of the blueberry filling to make heart-shaped pies. They were cute, but not super tasty. Moral of the story: Pie making takes a lot of skill and patience. For me, at least. :)

Like the lion face we made on one of the cup pies? That’s Lauren’s talented artwork.

Unfortunately, I don’t have a recipe to share. Just thought I would post some pictures of the process! What is your favorite kind of pie? Do you have any tips on getting pies just right?

Renegade Holiday Market Loot

12/17/2012 by Jennifer 2 Comments

Yesterday, my mom and I went to the Renegade Holiday Market in San Francisco. Some of the things I purchased were gifts for others, which shall remain a secret. Here are a few items I bought for myself:

1. My new favorite mug from Pickle Pottery. I’m in love.

2. Some goodies from Bathing In Luxury. Rum Cake Soap & Earl Grey chapstick :)

Have you been to any Renegade Craft Fairs this winter??

Around Town With Amy

12/12/2012 by Jennifer 1 Comment

Earlier today, my friend Amy and I went on a photo date. It was wonderful to catch up! Amy is always so photogenic and whimsical. I just have a hard time looking at the camera/looking like I’m not freezing. Typical.

I love scouting out photo locations! Luckily this town has a lot of neat scenery. You can find more of our photo adventures here, here, and here. :)
