Good morning! Today, my favorites consist of things that remind to stay inspired and optimistic. I am working every single day (no weekends, ahhh!) for a while and I’m worried that I will miss out on rest and also that I might be distracted from crafty at-home goals. It is times like these that I’m so glad I truly love my jobs.

(one, two, three)

I’m not usually motivated or encouraged by words like, “Try Hard Today”. I don’t get worked up or anything – it mostly makes me feel more stressed out. Something draws me to this pretty typography though. It reminds me of something that happened a few years ago…rabbit trail time!

I was in a leadership program at my college and we always did this session called something like “Leaving a Legacy”. It was about being intentional in your work and in your interactions with others so that you will leave behind a legacy. Obvs. Anyway, one day we were taken to a cemetery and we had to seek out inspiring tombstones. It was a strange mix of interesting and awkward and maybe just maybe inspiring. I found a tombstone that said, “She did her best”. It resonated with me so deeply that I don’t think I will ever forget it.

All we can really do is our best. It’s not a cop out. It is what makes us human. And so, “Try Hard Today” reminds me of that moment in the cemetery. It almost means the same thing to me, that I should try my best.

I have said it a thousand times before but I always go overboard with goal setting to the point that I accomplish nothing. I am learning to prioritize and treat myself healthier so that I have more energy throughout the day (today I chose broccoli over pizza. yay!) And more importantly, I am learning to calm down. When I think I’ll be late for work, especially, I just breathe slowly and deeply. It’s working for me.

This is turning into a personal blog, huh? I’ll get back to the crafts soon, don’t worry. :)

Happy Friday to you! Do you have any plans for this weekend. How is October treating you so far?

Well isn’t your blog just a gem of creativity and loveliness and comical commentary. Your cemetery leadership class is definitely one of the most strange, but interesting lessons I’ve ever heard of. Good food for thought.

I am on the fence with typography prints. I do have one that I love that says “Never let the odds keep you from doing what you know, in your heart, you were meant to do”.. and it’s so special because my sister gave it to me, and I’ve been a self employed artist for years now. :) makes me happy every day when I see it, that that is what I do :)

Cheers, and happy to have refound your blog in my bookmarks bar!
