help! i need blog advice…

For the past few weeks, I have felt a little conflicted about my blog name. Should I change it to The Honey Haven to match my shop? Jenny Igloo will always be my nickname… but it’s something no one gets until they hear the story behind it. A really good story, by the way :) And as I told my best friend Sara earlier, “why should ‘Jenny Igloo’ be surrounded by bees?” Unfortunately it just doesn’t make sense.

What do you think?

thehoneyhaven.blogspot.com? I thought a day like this might come, so I coined the url months ago haha.

My blog is less than a year old so I don’t want to be wishy washy. But at the same time, my idea of “The Honey Haven” shop came along about a year ago as well. I am leaning towards changing it for the sake of consistency. I don’t want to be hasty, but I would like to change it soonish. By February.

Okay I’m done with my rambles. Let me know what you think :)

PS. Regardless of a name change, I think I’d like to give my blog a makeover soon. Just because I feel like playing on photoshop.

First off, your shop is adorable and I love the honeycomb motif. I’d change the name to The Honey Haven. I’m a big fan of simplicity and it just makes sense. Not that I’m an expert on this by any means.

I’m not sure. I had the same conflict. I switched less than a year into the blog I had before because I wanted it to match. I don’t think it really matters, I think you’ll probably have the same readers, etc, and you could just change the title of the blog to The Honey Haven but not the url, but it just bugged me that they weren’t the same. You do have the url,so it could be a clean transition. I imagine that your followers would follow you to the new blog, but I wonder if some might not realize it.

I just changed my blog name to be more reflective of my shops (and general blog feel) and I’m so glad I did. Hop on the bloggy makeover train with me, it’s a nice change!

As you have probably already figured out on Etsy, it is all about branding. I think having the same or similar name on your blog and Etsy shop is a great way of getting your brand out there. You could always keep the other blog going too, just for more personal stuff unrelated to your shop. I love the name Honey Haven, so clever!
