I’m spending this weekend at my aunt’s lovely cottage! She and my uncle own 95 acres of wonderful land, full of big trees, goats (lots of babieeesss), mules, dogs, etc. I am happy to be here. It is the most perfect way to spend my last weekend of freedom. Right now, my mom is deep cleaning the cottage and listening to her funky African music. She just began singing like Snow White too. That explains a lot about me, I guess.
Like my mask? I don’t want to inhale any fumes. |
…and I am making pretty things this weekend! Really. Not just talking about how I want to make them. Things are getting done.

Yesterday, my sister Danali turned six so we had a small get together. Adalin, my other little sister, presented Danali with this beautiful scarf:
Adalin is so talented and she’s only seven. I taught her how to double crochet, but I didn’t know she actually understood it. The hippie headband is courtesy of the birthday girl herself!
One thing I will miss about the summer is getting to have craft parties with my sisters whenever I want. My schedule for the semester turned out to be quite perfect, so I may have to take weekly trips home to see my family. If there is anything I’ve learned during my college experience, it’s that family time is so, so important. And I have the most amazing family ever. Seriously, I feel like I should dedicate a blog post to each member and just ramble about them for days.
(Also! Happy World Photography Day! And I just found out that tomorrow is National Honey Bee Day? This might be my favorite weekend. Ever.)

I really like the pond on your aunt and uncle’s property – cattails, dragonflies, tadpoles. It’s what you’d find illustrated in a story book. With the protection of mosquito repellent, you can sit there and ponder for hours! :)
