“it’s not where you take things from-it’s where you take them to.”

I finished my cowl over the weekend with this yarn that I completely fell in love with.
I stopped a few rows early, so it doesn’t fully cover my head when I pull it over, but I might end up adding more rows later. While I love this pattern a lot, I might want to make cowls to sell. So, right now I’m working on a yellow one by improvising and using my own pattern.

Lately, I have been thinking about originality. Some people claim that nothing is original. Everything is recycled. I tend to lean toward this perspective. But then when we create things, it isn’t encouraging to think that what we make isn’t original, right?

History is recycled. Fashion stems from all different eras. Millions of people follow the same recipes, directions, tutorials, etc. What is original? I love this quote because it shows how much of a part our hearts have to do with authenticity. Authenticity is not Originality. Thank goodness :)

I love the color of your new cowl! I think by making things handmade and putting a little piece of ourselves into each piece, each one is unique and original :)

    Your cowl turned out great.

We are each one of a kind, so I think our work is the result of our personal inspired experience processed through our unique perspective.

I like the quote from Jean Luc.

The cowl looks great! Love that yarn too. I’m working on a cowl myself. And great quote too. I might pin it. :)
